Baptism

          Baptism 1       Baptism 2

Baptisms are held on the 1st Sunday and 3rd Sunday of the month after the 11AM Mass.

Parents
If this is the first time as parents having a child baptized, then parents are required to attend one session of Baptism preparation. Preparation sessions are held on the second Wednesday of the month.

Please call and register with the Parish Office, 266-2123, ext. 3.

Godparents
The role of godparent goes back to the days when adults converted to the Christian faith and did not have Christian parents. Godparents spoke up for the baptized person and, if necessary, helped him or her to grow in the faith. Today, we understand that parents are the primary religious educators in the Christian faith, with the godparents setting an example and providing support.

The Church requires that at least one godparent, or sponsor, be a practicing Catholic who has received the Sacrament of Confirmation, whose primary role remains that of supporting the parents in bringing up the child in the Christian faith. But most parents choose two. When this happens, provided one godparent is Catholic, it is allowable for a non-Catholic baptized Christian to act as a witness to the Baptism. Godparents need a certificate from their parish to state that they are Catholics in good standing with the church.

Any adult who wishes to be baptized needs to enter into the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) process.  Please contact the Parish Office at 609-266-2123, ext. 3 for more information.
