Confirmation

The Sacrament of Confirmation is the second of the three sacraments of initiation. In the past it was administered immediately after the Sacrament of Baptism. It is said that Confirmation perfects our baptism and brings us the graces of the Holy Spirit just as the Apostles were on Pentecost Sunday.*

The laying on of hands, signifying the descent of the Holy Spirit, is just one act in the Sacrament of Confirmation. The essential element is the anointing of the confirmed with chrism (an oil consecrated by a bishop).  This seal is a consecration, safeguarded by the Holy Spirit, conferred on the Christian at Baptism.

Any Adult who wishes to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, please call the Parish Office at 609-266-2123.

Come, Holy Spirit, and renew the face of the earth.
